Ghost of Tsushima has been a hot topic recently. It was a wall of rumours and leaks that brought it its refreshed attention, as after a year of the game's release on the PlayStation, many signs pointed to the fact that more content for the game was on the way. A new single-player DLC was set to add to the story of Tsushima, taking the player to Ikishima and expanding Jin's journey hugely. It was very much welcomed by fans to be an addition to the standing game - but then the news changed.

Reports of a 'Director's Cut' started spilling out onto social media, following in Death Stranding's footsteps of embracing the love for video game auteurs and giving fans the best way to experience games. Many didn't believe the leaks, but now, we've got some confirttmation. PlayStation has now officially announced the Director's Cut, and have debuted a brand new trailer for the game.

It also comes with the long-rumoured single-player DLC, now officially titled the Iki Island expansion, the Legends online co-op, a skin set, in-game items and a digital mini art book.

The game boasts some pretty impressive features on the PS5 version, too; it's set to reach 4K resolution targeting 60fps, have 3D audio, a full Japanese lip-sync, haptic feedback using the DualSense controller and adaptive triggers too.

The director's cut of the game will launch at $69.99 on PS5 and $59.99 on PS4.

Plus, in good news for fans of the game in the first place, you can upgrade to the director's cut on PS4 for only $19.99 if you own the original game. Buying the director's cut on PS4 entitles you to a PS5 upgrade for $9.99, and you can upgrade directly from the base game on PS4 to the Director's Cut on PS5 for $29.99.

The game looks magnificent and seems to be a grand step up from the original game. We can't wait to get out mitts on it and take a trip back to Tsushima.
