We might be caught in the middle of a global pandemic where everyone is advised to wear a mask to stop the spread of the coronavirus, but that hasn't stopped one Apex Legends player imagining what Caustic would look like without a mask.

Remember when someone revealed what Toad from Mario looked like without his mushroom hat? Yep, it's pretty much the same thing and we can't unsee it. While Caustic usually looks like he's auditioning for Mad Max: Fury Road, Reddit user ImDeadWood revealed what's underneath that terrifying visage.

ImDeadWood took Caustic's Trophy Hunter Legendary skin and stripped it back to show what's going on underneath. Is anyone else getting some friendly Santa Claus-inspired vibes from this one? One person said he looked like a PS1 version of Hagrid from the Harry Potter games, however, another rightly pointed out, "A brick had more surfaces than Hagrid's model".

Elsewhere, he was compared him to Krieger from Archer and Hopper from Stranger Things. Mainly, most people agreed he's just not that intimidating without his mask on and chucking Nox Gas around wherever he goes.

The Toxic Trapper has been something of a menace in the story of Apex, but as Season 4 unfolded, we started to see a softer side to Caustic. Now that his mask is off, we've exposed the soft and vulnerable man underneath - instead of the evil genius he's often portrayed as.

Of course, Caustic needs his mask to breathe easily as he goes around doing his poisonous deeds. Even if he does evolve into an antihero of the game, don't expect to see him without his mask on any time soon. Would you want to see Batman's Bane without his mask on? Something just doesn't seem right.

Now that ImDeadWood has shown what Caustic could look like without his signature accessories, fans have been asking for other masked marvels like Octane and Bloodhound to be given the same treatment.
