Perkz Brands Fnatic As An 'Easy' Win In Ideal Worlds 2021 Group
You can take the Perkz out of G2 Esports, but you can't take the G2 out of Perkz...
Ahead of a return to face familiar foes at the League of Legends World Championships 2021, Luka "Perkz" Perković couldn't resist poking the bear that is his old LEC rivals, Fnatic.
G2 Esports may not have qualified for worlds, but their rivalry against Fnatic isn't one that fades away from their former players. Despite leaving the organisation for a trip across the pond to play for Cloud9 in America, Perkz has now admitted he's hoping to meet Fnatic at worlds, branding them as an "easy win".
In a stream alongside G2's Mihael "Mikyx" Mehle, Perkz took a swing at Fnatic, looking to get revenge for his former teammate.
When asked about his "dream group" after qualifying for the Group Stages of Worlds, Perkz quickly insisted he's want to face his old LEC rivals, saying "Fnatic, Gen.G, and FPX," before adding "Fnatic is an easy win, that’s for sure.”
As for the other teams in the group, he also claimed that T1 would be an easy win, despite the return to the world stage for Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok. He continued to say that he would actually prefer EDward Gaming over FPX, remembering that EDG was China's top seed and that would be an ideal fixture because "the difference between China first seed and China second seed is not that big, while the difference between the first seed and second seed in Korea is pretty big."
Alongside T1, the rest of the LPL qualified teams were also branded as "easy wins" by Perkz, with the exception of the reigning world champions, DAMWON Gaming.
The groups for Worlds 2021 have yet to been decided, with the Play-In stages also needing to have their fixtures organised. Cloud9 will have to progress through the Play-Ins in order to meet Fnatic who secured automatic Group Stage qualification.
As to whether the fixture will come about, is yet to be seen, although it will certainly be a rivalry to keep an eye on, as Perkz looks to carry G2's torch on the back of his Cloud9.
