Blinds drawn, windows shut, bedroom door crammed shut with a three-day-old top so that your parents can't disturb the grind. Anyone who has played Call of Duty Zombies over the past 15 years will remember the demonic dingy graphics, only enhanced by turning your room into a cesspit and immersing yourself in the dawn of the dead.

Whilst my mum is still haunted by the stale beast that wanders out from the room after a heavy brain-maggot expelling session, 15-year-old me, my mind often wonders how far I could have got if I didn't get bored with running trains around the Kino Der Toten stage before unleashing a whirlwind from thee Thundergun, followed by a rain of plasma from my Pack-a-Punched Ray Gun.

Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined Round 1000.

It seems impossible. The number of hours needed, the constant craving for blood-infused caffeine, and a vastly deteriorating eyesight, just doesn't seem possible.

However, debunking any myths, one supernatural junkie has blasted his way to Round 1000, after 13 days of splattering severed limbs. Oorah!

Call of Duty streamer "InsomniaVirus" has managed to survive 1000 rounds of the Black Ops Cold War game mode Outbreak, becoming the first player on record to do so.

What Is The Record For The Highest Round On Outbreak?

With a range of bugs and crashes, many players have struggled to reach high rounds on Black Ops Cold War zombies. Previously, the Sail 630 Nuclear Bug error code would prevent PC players from reaching high rounds, by randomly banning them from the game, whilst the PlayStation5 and Xbox Series X have been found to crash quite frequently.

After reaching Round 1000, InsomniaVirus now holds the record for the highest round ever recorded on Outbreak - although he didn't stop there.

After breaking the record, the YouTuber continued to Exfil at Round 1125, which is now the highest round ever on Outbreak.

How Did He Reach Round 1000?

It took 13 days for the gamer to reach Round 1000. This involved an insane number of hours poured into the game, and pausing it to recharge his batteries with food, water, and sleep.

Fortunately, the player's console became one of the main heroes of the hour, holding strong without crashing.

InsomniaVirus also played his run offline, to maximise his chances of avoiding crashes. This does mean that, although he now holds a seemingly unbeatable record, all of the XP he earned will not go towards his Battle Pass or online score.

Imagine what you could have got with those Aetherium Crystals... a small price to pay, though.
