The rumours were true! PlayStation has finally announced which games will be available to download for free on the Plus store, however, a secret Castlevania game has made an unexpected appearance on the list.

They say never look a gift horse in the mouth, but as usual, not all fans were overjoyed with the announcement. Among other things, this bonus Castlevania title will only be accessible in Asia.

What Games Are PS Plus Offering For Free In October?

As correctly predicted, PlayStation announced that the games coming PS plus on October 5 will be Hell Let LooseMortal Kombat X and, PGA Tour 2K21. An added little bonus on there was the Castlevania Requiem collection bundle, which includes Castlevania: Rondo of Blood and its sequel, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.

Based on some of the most iconic horror films around, the Castlevania franchise has included lots of classic bloodcurdling villains, such as Frankenstein's Monster and Dracula himself. With the spooky season soon upon us, Castlevania Requiem would be the perfect gothic horror action-adventure game to get us in the Halloween spirit. Sadly, this offer won't be available for gamers outside of Asia.

Why Aren't People Happy About October's PS Plus Games?

PlayStation Plus has been getting a lot of flack over the past few months. Not only has there been rumours that the price of the subscription service could be getting hiked, but it's also facing fierce competition from the Xbox Game Pass.

With PlayStation's post facing backlash on Twitter, it seems that the latest release is much more of a trick than a treat for gamers. Not only is Castlevania Requiem available just for Asia-based gamers, but PlayStation fans who have been struggling to get their hands on next-gen consoles were disappointed with the choice of games available on PS4.

In response to the news about Castlevania Requiem, one Twitter-user said: "Well that's stupid, many are already unhappy with the lineup and then a game that would make me and others happy, you make it Asia exclusive, just why?".

Hopefully, PlayStation will review its decision following the reaction from fans and consider bringing Castlevania for free to Western gamers just in time for Halloween. For now, we'll be counting down the days until the upcoming next chapter in the Castlevania TV series.
