Utter the words “stim glitch” to any seasoned battle royale veteran, and you’re likely to send a shiver down their spine. Players of both Warzone and Apex Legends have experienced their own iterations of the bug, with one allowing players to stick around in the closing ring for hugely extended periods of time, and the other giving players movement speed that’s so sharp that it becomes hard to process.

Both have a habit of dissecting game metas, and sadly, one has returned. Apex Legends now has a new bug to contend with, as a player has accidentally discovered that the stim glitch is alive and well in Season 10.

The stim glitch that reared its head back in season 6 of Apex Legends sent the game’s meta into a tailspin upon its discovery, allowing Octane players to double their already huge movement speed as offered by his stim tactical ability. And, frustratingly for those who oppose the glitch, it’s made a bold return.

It was discovered by streamer iiTzTimmy recently, and to add insult to injury, it was entirely accidental. Using his stim as he entered a Wraith portal, the combination somehow allowed him to stim again the moment he left the portal, giving him incredible speed even beyond the capabilities of the stim.

“I exploited!” he exclaims after leaving the portal. “I don’t know what I did!”

This might have been completely accidental, and iiTzTimmy got downed pretty quickly afterwards, but the very fact that the exploit is still kicking around is bound to prick the ears of players willing to put the exploit to good use, and to devastating effect.

How Is This Stim Glitch Different To The Original Version?

Interestingly, this method is completely different to the glitch that had to be patched out back in season 6, but both glitches achieve the same effect. The original glitch put holo sprays to use, allowing players to run faster for longer by throwing down a holo spray at the same time as hitting the button for the stim tactical ability.

It was a lot more accessible than this new version of the glitch, hence why it received so much dev attention when it was first discovered.

Requiring a Wraith ultimate makes this glitch a lot less sustainable to use, but the effect remains the same, and has the potential to uproot the game’s meta all over again. Fingers crossed that Respawn is savvy to this glitch - because there’s every chance it could take over the game all over again.
