According to hltv.org and 1pv.fr, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive superstar Nikola "NiKo" Kovač has received an offer from Berlin-based esports organisation G2 Esports. Whether FaZe will be accepting the offer is currently unknown. It is speculated that he would be replacing François "AmaNEk" Delaunay on the G2 roster. Both FaZe and G2 had performed below expectations in recent months despite being considered star-studded rosters as neither team had picked up a tournament victory in 2020.

NiKo is considered one of the best players in professional CS:GO, consistently ranking among the top 5 players in the prestigious hltv rankings for several years. For FaZe, he had recently assumed an in-game leader position which experts criticised, arguing that it didn't suite NiKo's skill set.

If the trade was to go through, NiKo would join his cousin Nemanja "huNter-" Kovač on G2 Esports who had been with the team since October 2019. NiKo would be leaving FaZe after more than three years with the organisation, enjoying great success especially in 2019.

Initial reactions of experts and pundits around the scene have so far been positive, with many anticipating a duo of French superstar Kenny "kennyS" Schrub and NiKo.
