Activision Blizzard has teamed up with Twitch dynamite NICKMERCS to expand on his MFAM Gaunlet tournament. The Warzone event that featured streamers, pros and athletes across America has acted as a monthly event with a $50,000 prize pool previously, but with the new partnership with Activision, the prize pool has doubled, alongside a shift a four-week basis and a huge amount of promotion.

The first event with the new monstrous duo will take place on Wednesday 15th July, with the qualifiers being two days prior.

Previous events have featured some of the biggest names in gaming, and American culture, with people such as Jack 'Courage' Dunlop, Turner 'Tfue' Tenney, American Football running back Tarik Cohen and Basketball star Vincent Poirier competing for the $50,000 prize. With double the money up for grabs this time around, it is set to attract more huge personalities, and increase on its viewership of 212,000 (on average).

What does this mean for Warzone Wednesdays?

KEEMSTARS Warzone Wednesdays have been a popular Warzone competition since the conception of Warzone and scaled in popularity when it changed to a 2v2 kill race format. However, after averaging less than half of the MFAM Gauntlet viewers, and not featuring since July 6th, NICKMERCS seems to have swooped in and capitalised on the absence, solidifying his tournament as the best in Warzone. It may well be the ned of Warzone Wednesdays.

The MFAM Gauntlet will also raise awareness for the Call of Duty Endowment, which is a charity dedicated to military veterans, asking for donations to this good cause.

Tune in on the 15th July to see a full line up of those competing for the $100,000 prize pool across Verdansk.
