New World has had an incredible headstart on the gaming industry. Its closed beta has brought in an incredible sum of fans, blowing up the game’s category on Twitch and even pushing it past 200k viewers at one point. Gaming fans are flocking to see what the deal is with the new Amazon Game Studios title, and so far, the beta looks incredibly promising, and the streamers who are showing it to the world are loving it. Well, most of them.

Some streamers aren’t so impressed and are airing their concerns live on stream - but other fans are calling for Amazon Game Studios not to listen to their critiques.

Though the streamers with access to New World’s beta are the greatest advertisers of the title right now, fans have pleased with its developers not to humour their petty complaints of the game. Streamer Asmongold described the beta as “dysfunctional” and sparked the conversation around the validity and importance of streamer opinions. “It’s so laggy, it’s so broken”, he says. “I don’t know what they’re gonna do [to fix it].”

This suggestion has pushed fans to take to Reddit, offering a plea to developers not to take these suggestions seriously.

“Listening to a lot of these streamers beg Amazon to remove PVP scaling so they don’t have to worry about losing PVP against lower levels is cringe”, reads one post from user Harrada in the NewWorldGame subreddit. “They do not represent the PVP community of this game. They represent the crowd that wants to feel good about themselves like they are a better player because they have better gear.”

Despite many of them not getting their hands on the game themselves yet, a lot of fans have echoed the sentiments of Harrada’s post. Leading commenter Sardonnicus says “people need to stop listening to streamers period. They do not represent us. They only represent themselves.” Another user, VH-Attila, responds sarcastically “B...But whenever they suggest something the viewers spam ‘TRUE’, so they gotta be right all the time, right?”

Thatsthewaay comments something that can accurately describe the way a lot of the commenters are feeling right now - they say simply “PVP is well done, actually. Don’t really care about streamers and their stupid ideas.”

Whether or not Amazon Game Studios elect to listen to streamers remains to be seen, but it’d deeply upset a lot of fans of New World before the game even comes out. Fingers crossed they make the right call, else their popularity could cap out here.
