New Tony Hawk Game Could Be In The Works, According To Musician
Tony Hawk's titles have had a solid resurgence lately. After the sheer chaos of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 5, it was thought that the franchise would be finished forever - but, as fans revelled in the announcement of the remaster package Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+2 and came out to buy it in droves, it seemed like the series had cheated death. Players are still obsessed with the title, and with good reason. And apparently, it looks like this might not be the end of the Tony Hawk’s game series.
Musician Suggests New Tony Hawk’s Game Could Be Coming
When guesting on the Behind Closed Doors podcast in April, CKY drummer Jess Margera spoke on music, skating and more. When prompted about CKY’s appearance on Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3’s soundtrack with the song 96 Quite Bitter Beings, he suggests another title in the series could be in the works, or at least recruiting artists. The interviewer asks: “I’m assuming you guys were on at least one of the Tony Hawk games, weren’t you?”. To which Margera responds “Yeah, and I believe we’re doing the new one coming out too.”
The interview launched after the first game's remaster released and CKY didn’t appear on its soundtrack, so it’s safe to assume he is referencing a new project. Whether this is a remaster of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 (something that Hawk himself has suggested could be coming soon, bundled with Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4) or a new title using a different CKY song is unknown, but that the very least, we can assume that CKY has been approached about a new game.
The future of the series might be unknown right now, but at least we have some kind of reassurance that something is on the way. And truly, we cannot wait to see what that something comes to be.
