New Harry Potter Game Lets You Fight For (Or Against) Voldemort
Accio, instruction manual! Because The OP have released a new board game, Talisman: Harry Potter Edition. In the game, Harry Potter fans will have to decide where their allegiance lies, using smart tactics to fight for Voldemort or rally up the troops to fight against him.
The Sorting Hat may decide which Hogwarts house you belong to, but it doesn't have any say about fans wanting to fight for good or evil. Players will have the choice to fight for the Order Of The Phoenix against the Dark Lord or win his favour as a Death Eater.
We might not be seeing Hogwarts Legacy until 2022, however, this board game will no doubt fill the Wizarding World-shaped hole left in the hearts of Harry Potter fans until then.
How Do You Play The New Talisman Harry Potter Board Game?
The Talisman board games have gained a dedicated fan-base over the years thanks to their intricate gameplay and meticulous design. However, the game can be hard to get to grips with for first-timers. Luckily, Good Time Society's Becca Scott has produced a handy tutorial for the Talisman: Harry Potter Edition which you can watch below.
To round it up, the basic premise of the game is that 2-6 players must choose whether to join Dumbledore's Army or become a Death Eater. Players must progress through the game, beginning on the outer regions of the Wizarding World. Eventually, making their way to a blockbuster showdown of Dumbledore vs. Voldemort proportions at Hogwarts Castle.
Along the way, witches and wizards can pick up Object and Follower cards to help strengthen their standing by collecting skills and defences for their journey. There are some familiar faces players can come across, from Professor McGonagall to Bellatrix Lestrange. This will come as a huge relief to Harry Potter fans as Hogwarts Legacy will feature a whole host of new characters. Rather than the classic magical beings of the films and books.
