New-Gen Assassin's Creed Origins Update Apparently On The Way
Assassin's Creed is coming down from a big announcement. A whopping Valhalla DLC event is on its way, with the massive Dawn of Ragnarök expansion bringing an ambitious tread into Norse mythology and a narrative that the franchise has never seen before.
But, that's not all that was revealed - a new story arc is set to cross the streams of the stories told by both Valhalla and Odyssey. It will bring new gameplay to both titles, meaning Assassin's Creed is getting very ambitious. It's nice that older titles aren't getting left by the wayside.
Is Assassin's Creed Origins Getting A New-Gen Boost?
Ubisoft has now teased that it's not done with upgrading Assassin's Creed Origins just yet. Following a tweet celebrating AC Day, Ubisoft suggested that giving the game better playability on new-gen consoles is next on their plate.
"We are also looking into adding 60FPS support for Assassin's Creed Origins, so stay tuned!" the reply says. Remembering that Origins is held by many as a long-awaited return to form - and takes place at the start of franchise chronology - we can't wait to see what a new-gen version looks like.
It's good news not only for fans of the game itself, but fans of the franchise, because this is a great sign that despite the massive DLC push for Valhalla, Ubisoft isn't quite ready to move on from its other titles just yet.
When Will Assassin's Creed Origins' New-Gen Boost Arrive?
We're still not sure when this upgrade will arrive, but it's probably safe to assume that it will arrive after, or at the same time as the new update for Odyssey and Valhalla. Ubisoft has proven that it's got a lot on its plate already, but that means the team has some big promises to make good on before they can start heading back to some older titles.
Either way, it's nice to see that Ubisoft is giving some love to older Assassin's Creed titles - especially when the franchise's cultural significance is thanks to some of its classic games. Valhalla's set to have a big 2022, but thankfully, that doesn't mean the other games have to be forgotten.
