Microsoft Confirms Xbox Series Cloud Gaming For 2021
You’d think that Xbox Game Pass had done enough for the consumer, really. The huge sum of games available on the subscription service has been an incredible asset to Xbox in the soft console wars that persist in hardware allegiances - providing Xbox users with a massive library of games for them to play as they see fit.
Not only this, but the Ultimate subscription offers players ways to play their favourite games on PC and mobile too, with the benefits of an Xbox Live Gold subscription rolled in too. The pass is an incredible asset to the consumer, and as it turns out, it’s set to get even better before the year is out - as Xbox One users are going to be able to experience the next generation of gaming too.
Microsoft To Bring Cloud Gaming To Console This Year
During Gamescom, Microsoft has announced that Cloud Gaming will be making its way to Xbox consoles before the year’s end. This means that users on the Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles are going to be able to play the games on the Game Pass without needing to go through the process of downloading them first, making way for a whole new way to play, especially for those on the smaller hardware of the Series S.
Microsoft is currently targeting 1080p gameplay at 60fps for Cloud Gaming, and will be extending cloud gameplay to 100 of the games on the Game Pass first. At launch, you’ll know which games are available to play via the cloud thanks to the little cloud icon next to it in the Game Pass library. But that’s not all.
Xbox One Can Run Xbox Series Games Through The Cloud
This new advent means that players on the Xbox One will be able to play games designed for the Xbox Series X|S, without needing to download or without having the necessary hardware. Microsoft has used the hefty Microsoft Flight Simulator as an example.
It’s an incredible introduction to the Game Pass, that not only lets players experience the next generation ahead of time, but will also let them go nuts with a huge collection of games before choosing to download them for the best framerates and visuals. The Game Pass continues to impress, and it doesn’t look like it’s ready to slow down yet.
