Metroid Prime Remastered was an incredible treat when it surprise-launched in February 2023, but even though it made Nintendo a good amount of money, it has only made calls for Metroid Prime 4 even more vicious.

The shooter franchise has always been a favourite of Nintendo fans, and its fourth entry's development setbacks have been massively disappointing for fans. They've been waiting for years now...and had even before its reveal.

Hope for a Metroid Prime 4 reveal has been equally piquing and troughing with every new gaming conference coming and going. But now, new rumours suggest that we should expect the unexpected - including a Metroid Prime 4 release date.

A new rumour has begun to swirl on the GamingLeaksandRumours subreddit that Metroid Prime 4 could be about to get a surprise launch. The post links to a page that lets you register interest in Metroid Prime 4 via the My Nintendo Store

Even though the store doesn't actually list Metroid Prime 4, it asks them to input their email so that they can be kept up to date with the game's progress. The problem is, it's unclear how long the page has been up and what it means for the franchise's future.

Players have pointed out that this could indicate that last-minute news is incoming from Nintendo, and the mere fact that the page exists suggests that the company will soon be ready to show us more about the game.

Are we seeing Metroid Prime 4 soon?

It's true that this could be another measure that Nintendo forgot about when it would have been useful. Then again, with swirling rumours of another Nintendo Direct, it wouldn't be far out of the question to presume we'll finally get a look at Metroid Prime 4

Nintendo doesn't have a major release on the cards beyond Pikmin 4, and with no announcements for the 2023 holiday season, could we really be getting Metroid Prime 4 this year? Others point to the rumours we'll be getting a new console in 2024, meaning Metroid Prime 4 could launch as the next flagship title.

We've been waiting so long for Samus' return, but if we take any of the above to mean what we think this means, then it looks like we thankfully shouldn’t be waiting much longer.
