Fall Guys has captured millions of players' imaginations worldwide in its short history, however, as the hype is plateauing, fans are wondering what's next.

With an urge to enjoy the non-violent battle royale with as many friends as possible, players have started to ask about cross-play and custom lobbies. Granting the ability for PC and PlayStation owners to play together will open up a new dynamic for Fall Guys, allowing friends to jump on their respective platforms to enjoy the ultimate Fall Guys experience.

With hopes of cross-play looming, Mediatonic's Lead Game Designer, Joe Walsh, has explained, "We're still committed to it. I think we're committed to it even more than we were before. We're seeing that Fall Guys is bringing people in who don't usually play multiplayer games together. So if we can get people together with friends as soon as possible, that's good. It's important to us as a studio".

As for when we could expect this, Walsh admitted "There's nothing new on that front, I'm afraid" when speaking to The Loadout.

A further platform has been all-but-confirmed to be coming to Fall Guys too. It's not great news for Xbox fans, as Mediatonic are partnering with Bilibili to bring Fall Guys to mobile.

Despite not having "any plans to talk about a mobile port in the west or anything", Walsh stated, "We’re really excited about these opportunities that Bilibili are presenting to us. For anyone that doesn’t know them, they’re essentially Chinese YouTube but bigger, so it’s amazing to have the opportunity to work with them and they’ve been promoting the game on Steam already. We’re excited to see what that version of the game can bring to a new audience".

In terms of custom lobbies, this is something on the radar for the Fall Guys team. Walsh added, "It’s still early days, but it’s something we hear a desire for. Fall Guys is ultimately a TV show and people want to be the director, they want to run their own show. We totally hear the demand for that, but it’ll take us a little while to figure out what that looks like exactly. But it’s on our list of things to do." Social media guru Oliver Hindle continued, "And it’ll help with the events too being able to set up private lobbies".

With over two million copies being sold in its first week, and Season 2 being announced at Gamescom, it looks like Fall Guys will be here to stick around for the long run.
