Long-Awaited System Shock Remake Finally Has A Release Window

System Shock is regarded as an absolute classic, and for good reason.
The game is excellent in its own right, and although it provided a masterclass in first-person action-adventure, many remember it as the very special launching point that helped Bioshock become what it is.
A remake has been slowly coming together for some time now. Long-time fans of System Shock are starting to get the itch and want their hands on it now. If you're one of those gamers, fear not - we have some more information on when the game will come to release.
System Shock Remake Is Coming In 2022
Don't panic - after the teased release windows for System Shock came and went, there was a lot of concern that the game had fallen way off track. We now know a little more about the remake's production, including a release window.
According to Nightdive Studios, production is coming along well, meaning the System Shock remake will launch at some point in 2022.
The latest update from Nightdive revealed that the remake would be published by Prime Matter, while the game will launch simultaneously on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC all at the same time.
There have also been some new screenshots revealed on the Kickstarter page, giving us a new peek into production. But, that's not all.
System Shock Remake Beta Coming In Early 2022
For those that worry that "2022" as a release window means "late 2022", fear not - the game's closed beta for Kickstarter backers intends to go ahead during early 2022. By all accounts, the full game shouldn't follow too long afterwards.
This is good news after the title's long delay, and it means that System Shock fans won't have that long after all to wait. "Some time in 2022" can't come soon enough. Hopefully, we'll have a System Shock remake to play before the live-action TV series comes out.
