Known as arguably the biggest fixture in the esports calendar, the League of Legends World Championships Grand Final is fast approaching, and fans are going to be able to watch the upcoming series in the most comfortable of fashions imaginable.

As the LCK look to assert their dominance once again, with three of the four remaining teams being from Korea (T1, DAMWON KIA, and Gen.G), the Grand Finals will cement dynasties, upset challengers, and break records as League of Legends prepares for an all-time high of concurrent viewers.

Previously, the 2020 Grand Finals broke the record for the most-viewed esports game in history, peaking at 3.8million (minus the data held back from China, who boasted one of the finalist teams). Going into the 2021 Grand Final, the statistics point in a favourable way for the peak to be smashed, as the quarter-final between MAD Lions and DAMWON reached 2.2million concurrent viewers.

With an expected 4million plus pairs of eyes tuning in, a select minority will have the best seats in the house, as the 2021 League of Legends World Championships is being displayed at 70 cinemas worldwide.

According to Esports Insider, a Riot Games spokesperson said: "Enjoy the electrifying atmosphere of a live event in your local cinema, beamed directly from the Laugardalshöll Indoor Sporting Arena in Reykjavík, Iceland."

Over 70 cinemas across Europe will show the Grand Finals match, as either EDward Gaming or Gen.G will take on T1 or DAMWON on November 6.

Locations and tickets are set to become available through Riot Games' official LoL Esports website, although Twitch and YouTube will still be the most prominent method of watching the games.

It won't be the first time that esports events have reached cinemas either. The 2019 Worlds Grand Final hit cinemas in Spain, as the country rallied around their native G2 Esports, whilst the UK did the same for Fnatic in their Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) match against FaZe Clan at the 2018 IEM Katowice finals.

The method is targeted by Riot as a replacement for in-person watch parties, where people can gather in a more socially distanced seated setting, rather than a free-for-all in a restaurant or café.

With the Worlds 2021 Grand Final set for 2pm BST on November 6, make sure you leave enough room for some popcorn after dinner.
