Rachel "Valkyrae" Hofstetter has recently been heavily criticised for her co-founder status at the newly-launched skincare campaign RFLCT, after the "blue light pollution protection" products were labelled as a "scam".

The project, which was two years in the making for Valkyrae, had been abruptly condemned by the large majority of fans, with the streamer being called "naive" and "susceptible" by long-time friend Jeremy "Disguised Toast" Wang.

To rub salt into the still open wound, fellow streamer Imane "Pokimane" Anys also launched a brand-new venture just a week after, taking the same role in an esports and gaming talent management and brand consulting agency.

Now, some leaked DMs between Valkyrae and Ludwig "Ludwig" Van Ahgren have surfaced, showing her regret at the situation.

As reported by Dexerto, Ludwig accidentally leaked his Discord messages between the two, in which Valkyrae admitted that she "really messed up trusting [the people involved in RFLCT’s launch], and has been talking to her lawyers about breaking her contract entirely."

Valkyrae also confessed to believing that RFLCT would be publishing the data, and she was confused about its omission on the website.

In the messages, she wrote: "ulta invested 4 million. so it's like....why wouldn't they make it legit? why would a company like ulta invest in something like this if they didnt also believe the research. they just dont understand how this RUINS my brand. if the research isnt public... i really need it to be public lol... im so dumb. i should have asked more questions, i just thought it was obvious it would be there."

She added: "I'm just gnna embrace the scammer life, get out of the contract and admit i was an idiot. LMAO WOOOOOO."

The leaked Valkyrae DMs also suggested that her lawyers are working on a way of cutting ties with the $4million contract, with one unsigned document being the leverage they need. She wrote: "they hate me for leaving the contract. but its looking like its possible so im hopeful."

Ludwig replied: "LOL fk em!!! It'll hurt their brand to have you stay".

Valkyrae responded saying that due to her not signing one of the contracts, she has 'a bit of leverage', before adding: "right now we have been going back and forth with pr and lawyers for a statement and they are just trying to get me to say the dumbest sh*t, like 'while i will still be using the RFLCT products, i hope nothing but the best for this passionate team' - i really messed up with trusting these people."

We'll have to wait and see whether she manages to leave the contract.
