More Dragons Are Coming To League Of Legends
League of Legends has a storied history with the mythical flying beasts that are dragons, turning the fearsome fanged fiends into more of a desirable cuddly critter that belongs in the hearts of the fandoms. Their CGI dragon during the 2018 World Championships Grand Final is world-renowned as one of the best live productions ever made, matched closely by their 2020 live-action concert performed by K/DA.
Now, just as the 2021 World Championships begins to heat up, more dragons are set to spread their piercing wings in League of Legends.
According to Riot Games' Jeremy "Brightmoon" Lee, two new dragons are coming in the pre-season 2022 patches, which is set to add a new element to the in-game dynamics that are offered by the buffs and soul point.
The Hexteck dragon and Chemtech dragon will be landing in the new year, both of which will offer drastically different buffs and adds a further range to team dynamics.
Hextech Dragon
The Hextech Dragon comes with deep cobalt wings and a bone-cold golden arch, topped off with icicle-esque spikes and gems, and will be known for using his frozen appearance to put one team on skates.
After being destroyed, the team who dealt the last blow will get an instantaneous Ability Haste and Attack Speed boost, whilst its soul will create a chain-slow, similar to Statikk's Shiv, capable of hitting up to seven targets at once.
In addition to the buffs, the Hexteck Dragon will create gateways across Summoners Rift, that will transport players across the map and open up interesting routes for ganks.
Chemteck Dragon
Arriving with a poisonous dip, the Chemteck Dragon will be identified by its toxic tints that drip off a noxious deep purple and septic wings. With a venomous gnarl, the Chemteck Dragon will offer players a sly way back into the game when the chips are down.
Once slain, the beneficiary team will add an increased damage buff when HP is low, almost like a last wilt attempt to poison your attacker who is quickly overpowering you. The sly tactic is to be added for teams that need a turn-around mid-game, without drastically changing the momentum.
The soul will temporarily reanimate you after death for a few seconds, much like a few of the items, which will save you some well-earned gold.
Both dragons will come in the first quarter of 2022 before the new seasons kick off the calendar year with a fang.
