Riot Games are consistently improving the quality of League of Legends, refining the finer details that enhance a player's experience.

As the developers are set to be kicking off Season 11 with a bang this new year, they have opted to spare nothing when looking at how to make it one of the smoothest and practical updates released yet. Starting on January 6, Riot will be launching the final set of tuning to the item rework, making major balance changes to champions such as Gnar and Pantheon, restarting the ranked playlist, and even making changes to the chat functions.

Senior Experience Designer, Jordan Checkman, took to Twitter to outline several changes in patch 11.1 and 11.2 which will directly impact the chat function. It comes after a Reddit thread surfaced in December which branded the current chat features as "unintuitive".

Checkman stated that the changes will include:

  • Ctrl + A / Drag Select - Patch 11.1
  • Fix for End of Game double-enter bug - Patch 11.2
  • Scaling changes (chat will be larger at small resolutions and scale better) - Patch 11.2

The developer did add that these changes are subject to change meaning that there may be slight adjustments, but it's clear to see that Riot is acting upon feedback from the community to improve the overall consumer experience of League of Legends.

Season 11's major changes will see large buffs to Gnar's mega form making him a much more formidable foe. Pantheon will be heading in the opposite direction though, being on the receiving end of some further minor nerfs to her dominant Top Lane specialities.
