Just like that, the off-season comes in at full force. The Los Angeles Gladiators have announced the departure of Jason "Jaru" White, Hyung-seok "Bischu" Kim, Jonas "Shaz" Suovaara, and Benjamin "BigG00se" Isohanni. The Gladiators had finished 9th place (6th in the North American division) in the third season of the Overwatch League and had lost the North American playoffs in 7-8th seed.

The support backline of Shaz and BigG00se had been a staple for the Gladiators since the inaugural season in 2018, playing the vast majority of matches for the team throughout the three seasons. The Finnish main support announced his retirement from active play right after the news of his departure had dropped. BigG00se has been a cherished player by the Gladiators fans, featuring in several skits for the team and being known for his effort in trying to learn Korean. His long-time teammate Shaz also stated that he's "going to take some time to think about what I will do next."

Bischu had rejoined the Gladiators after a short stint at the Guangzhou Charge at the end of season 2. Initially coming over from League of Legends, Bischu looks back on an eight-year-long pro player career. He also announced that he aspires to move into a coaching or management position.

Jaru has so far not commented on his release. The former DPS player for Team Envy had joined the Gladiators for season 3 but had rarely been fielded for the Gladiators.

The transfer window will open at the end of the month, allowing teams to sign free agents. Given that the Gladiators currently have less than the league-mandated seven players and currently have no support players, they will have to make transfer moves in the coming weeks.
