King Shark Teased As New Fortnite Skin

What's Sylvester Stallone's greatest movie performance of all time, is it the OG Rocky, First Blood, or Antz? For some, it's his surprise role as Nanaue, aka King Shark, in James Gunn's The Suicide Squad. While Fortnite has already had a crossover thanks to Idris Elba's Bloodsport jumping off the Battle Bus, it sounds like the rest of Task Force X could be on the way.

The ferocious fish was revamped for 2021's antihero blockbuster, and while we've seen King Shark plenty of times before, rarely has he had as much heart as The Suicide Squad. We'd always hoped King Shark could chomp his way into Fortnite, and now, a fin has been spotted slicing through the water.

Why do fans think King Shark is coming to Fortnite?

The mere notion of King Shark swimming onto the map is enough to have us throwing V-bucks at the screen, but now, leakers think they've cracked the code. With some snooping that even Amanda Waller would be proud of, noted leaker ShiinaBR claims codewords for "SeesawSea" and "SeeSawFuzzy" refer to King Shark and Weasel.

Despite Weasel's blink-and-you'll-miss-it appearance in the movie, Sean Gunn's portrayal as the furry serial killer became a comedic highlight. Fortnite is known for using cryptic names to hide its upcoming skins, however, Seasaw could be a clever cover for The Suicide Squad. As with all these things, we'll have to wait and see, and as Epic often pulls the rug from underneath us, we're not sure whether these skins are still in the works. 

Earlier this month, each of the Suicide Squad sprays was given its own unique codename with Bloodsport (SeesawSlipper), Harley Quinn (SeesawCottonCandy), Polka Dot Man (SeesawDots), Peacemaker (SeesawWings), and King Shark (SeesawTeeth) all making the cut. It's unclear why King Shark would've had his code changed, or whether this is a new squadmates being added to the mix. 

Are more of the Suicide Squad coming to Fortnite?

As a more concrete addition to the shop, recent rumours claim John Cena's Peacemaker is following in Bloodsport's footsteps. Shiina is back again, but this time, points to a Peacemaker skin possibly coming alongside his spinoff in January. The leak apparently comes from the person who first broke the news on Bloodsport, so there's at least some credence to the rumours.

Given that Cena is due to lead his own HBO Max Peacemaker series, it makes a lot of sense that he's coming to Fortnite. We'd also love to see Polka-Dot Man and Ratcatcher 2 make their mark on the battle royale brawler, but to be honest, we're probably getting toward the end of our crossover with The Suicide Squad. Well, as long as King Shark gets to take a bite of the competition, we don't really mind.
