The next entry in the long-running King of Fighters franchise is edging closer, as the open beta officially launches today (November 19) for King Of Fighters XV.

How Can I Play The King Of Fighters XV Beta?

The King of Fighters XV beta is for PlayStation users and is available to download on both PS4 and PS5. It will first be available to North American players on Friday, November 19 from 19:00PT/22:00ET, until Monday, November 22 at 07:00PT/10:00ET. For the audience over in Europe, it goes live on Saturday, November 20 at 04:00CET, until Monday, November 22 at 16:00CET. There will also be crossplay enabled between the consoles.

According to developers, SNK, they'll be monitoring the stability of the game, as well as testing for bugs and glitches throughout the course of the beta. Due to this, the online connectivity may be weak at some points - so expect some downtime.

What's In The King Of Fighters XV Beta?

The King of Fighters XV beta will allow users to take part in a select few modes, with a relatively small selection of the title's roster. Two of the modes set to be included are Offline Vs. for training, and a Tutorial mode, which will give players some time to familiarise themselves with the title and its characters. This should also be unaffected by the periods of downtime.

The other modes featured are Online lobby matches and Unranked Vs. battles, which will allow players to compete against each other. The limited roster for the beta will consist of returning characters Kyo Kusanagi, Iori Yagami, Shun'ei, Chizuru Lagura, Yashio Nanakase, Chris, Shermie, and even a new fighter called Dolores.

King Of Fighters XV is set to launch on February 17, 2022, on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and select PC storefronts.
