Call of Duty: Vanguard is on its way. As the development reaches its climax and the Alpha gameplay is revealed, there appear to be some mechanics that are going to prove problematic for the wider Call of Duty franchise.

Alongside a range of rather cool mechanics that will be added to Vanguard, such as the franchise's first-ever destructible environments, players have identified some features that could be "broken".

One being: Blind Firing.

The term is used for when a person shoots their weapon blindly, with no sense of what is on the other side. This is commonly used in warfare for instances around corners, or when crammed behind cover. Instead of peeking with your body, people will only show their weapon and shoot without seeing where they're aiming.

In the first glimpse of Call of Duty: Vanguard's campaign, players can see the newly-added blind fire on display.

After reviewing the footage, popular Warzone streamer James "JGOD" Godoy has claimed it could be "broken", if it isn't adapted before the full release of the title.

Despite the clear advantage that appears to come with a hidden hitbox, blind firing actually appears to offer greater accuracy, the polar opposite of what should happen.

Speaking in a YopuTube upload, JGOD explained that blind fire "reduces spread as a benefit, the same way normal mounting helps with recoil."

This means that the feature will benefit players in accuracy and cover, leaving no evident ramifications and encouraging camping.

Whether this mechanic will also feature over to Warzone is yet to be known, although sweeping a building with the feature in its current state would be near impossible.

Warzone is set to incorporate a range of Vanguard options in its new WWII-based map, coinciding with the game's release, where blind firing could be added and break the game.

Maybe the Alpha and Beta runs will allow Sledgehammer Games to rethink the finer details.
