After a successful release of the remastered campaign for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, it appears that another single-player remaster could be on the way in the not too distant future. The Modern Warfare 2 campaign arrived on PS4 on March 31st, much to the happiness of fans that wanted to take a trip down memory lane or wanted to experience one of the best Call of Duty campaigns in the history of the franchise.

Fans expressed their delight at the release of the campaign but many were left disappointed due to the lack of a remastered multiplayer. Activision stated that it would not be releasing a remastered version of the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer as it would further separate the player base in a similar way that the first remastered Modern Warfare did when it was released alongside Infinite Warfare back in 2016.

Popular CoD leaker TheGamingRevolution has revealed that a remastered campaign for Modern Warfare 3 has been in the works for several months and will release with no multiplayer like the remaster of Modern Warfare 2.

When Will the Modern Warfare 3 Remaster be Released?

If what TGR is saying is true, then a remastered campaign for Modern Warfare 3 could well arrive before the end of the current Modern Warfare game cycle. Considering the campaign has apparently been finished for some time, the ball is in the court of Activision as to when it decides to release the third and final remastered instalment of the original Modern Warfare trilogy into the public domain.

In his April 16th upload, TGR also revealed that Sony wanted to release the entire trilogy of Modern Warfare campaigns before the release of the soft reboot back in October 2019. Given the success of the launch of the Modern Warfare 2 campaign, it is highly likely that a third remaster could be released before October, when the 2020 instalment of the franchise is slated for release.
