Insomniac's Spider-Man Crossover Teases Miles Morales' MCU Debut
Go web go, Marvel's Spider-Man is getting ready for a crossover with Spider-Man: No Way Home. The world is waiting in anticipation for the third Tom Holland standalone - with what could be the most-hyped movie to grave the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Over in the world of video games, we're left in limbo as Insomniac tinkers away on Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and a mysterious Wolverine game. The last we saw of our wall-crawling hero, there was the remastered version of 2018's Spider-Man and 2020's PS5-exclusive Miles Morales.
What's Coming To Marvel's Spider-Man?
Coming to Spider-Man Remastered (which is part of Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales – Ultimate Edition), there are two No Way Home suits arriving on December 10.
The various trailers for No Way Home have shown off both the blue-and-gold suit and the black-and-gold suit. Some theorise the black-and-gold variant is an old suit turned inside out (don't ask us why), but either way, they've become a big talking point of the movie - and now the games.
The annoying catch is that these suits are only available on the PS5, so a lot of you will be locked out from playing as Holland's wall-crawling hero. Remember, the remastered version controversially swapped out Peter Parker's likeness to look a lot more like Holland - and presumably tie into the MCU.
Is Miles Morales On The Way To The MCU?
Even though Miles sadly isn't getting a new suit, could this be our biggest clue yet that the junior hero is coming to the MCU? There's been plenty of speculation that Peter's protégé is out there, and with a new trilogy of Spider-Man movies, it makes a lot of sense.
Let's also remember that Miles was potentially teased as far back as 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming. Here, Donald Glover has a small role as Aaron Davis. Davis is not only the uncle of Miles Morales, but also goes under the alter ego of the villainous Prowler.
Davis played a major role in Miles Morales and appeared in Sony's Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. With each day, the games and movies come closer together, and with No Way Home already leading into its Multiverse potential, literally anything can happen.
Admittedly, there's been no word of Glover reprising his role in No Way Home, and at the time of writing, no one has reportedly been cast as Miles. Still, we're fully expecting Holland to hand over the baton to someone in the near future. Teasing Miles through a Marvel's Spider-Man crossover event is definitely one way to drum up some hype.
