The recent PlayStation Showcase gave us a whole load of exciting content, including the God Of War Ragnarok trailer and the reveal of Spider-Man 2. However, one eagle-eyed viewer noticed a potential Hogwarts Legacy Easter egg during the 'Play Has No Limits' segment of the presentation.

What Was The Hogwarts Legacy Easter Egg In The PlayStation Showcase?

The opening sequence of the showcase featured a dynamic live-action game of chess, in which real-life characters represented the various pieces of the game as the two 'Kings' battled it out across a dystopian city. In a real blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment, as one of the 'Pawns' prepared for combat, the Hogwarts Legacy symbol can be seen in the bottom right-hand corner of the screen.

Sadly, there didn't appear to be any further references to the upcoming video game throughout the entire showcase. So, what exactly Sony's reason for the small Easter egg is a bit of a mystery.

Commenters on the original Reddit post were both excited and curious as to whether this could be Sony's way of teasing fans about the rumoured PlayStation Experience event: "There is a rumoured December event, which will probably reveal psvr2 and some game showcases. Hopefully Hogwarts Legacy will be there."

Fans are eagerly awaiting for the announcement of the official release date for Hogwarts Legacy. Originally scheduled for release in 2021, it was then announced that the magical game had been delayed to some time in 2022 to give "the game the time it needs".

There was some disappointment from fans at the absence of the game from the PlayStation Showcase: "Where were you? You were very missed, Hogwarts Legacy!". However, others showed their support for the delay: "Take your time, we will wait!!".
