If the world of crazy crossovers wasn't already out-there enough, it turns out there's an Untitled Goose Game Easter egg hiding in Hitman 3. IO Interactive is back to round off the acclaimed World of Assassination trilogy that closes another chapter of the long-running stealth series. Here, Agent 47 is thrown into what could be his final adventure, touring the world, and taking out targets as only he can.

When it comes to Untitled Goose Game, Melbourne-based House House worked on this stealth game that was apparently inspired by Super Mario 64 and (you guessed it) the Hitman series. As a thanks for the nod, IO Interactive has given Untilted Goose Game the love it deserves by honouring the title in its latest outing.  A big part of Hitman 3 is keeping quiet and out of sight, meaning the interruption of a honking goose would undoubtedly disrupt your big kill. Thankfully, it looks like rogue geese are banned from Hitman 3

What is the Hitman 3 Untitled Goose Game Easter egg?

Posting on Reddit, u/smokebomb_exe showed off this egg-cellent homage to Untitled Goose Game from the background of Hitman 3's Germany level. Alongside the image of a goose on a concrete barrier, there's the German phrase for "no trespassing". Although developers are yet to confirm it as an Untilted Goose Game crossover, we can't see any other explanation for it. Imagine this being a tease for an Untitled Goose Game sequel that turns the titular bird into a stealthy assassin taking out villainous park keepers.

It's unclear why its only Germany that seems to have a problem with geese, especially since Hitman 3 heads to the likes of Argentina, China, and Dubai. Either way, fans of the series are suitably impressed by the find. Considering Hitman 3 is only a matter of days old, players should keep their eyes open to see if there are more Untitled Goose Game Easter eggs out there in IO Interactive's world.

Ironically, this isn't the first Untitled Goose Game crossover we've seen. Back when House House's adorable indie title was first released, there was an influx of creativity as gamers added the goose into a variety of other games. Alongside The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, we saw it flap into action in Animal Crossings: New Horizons, the terrifying Silent Hills playable teaser, and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. None of these were official, meaning the Hitman 3 Easter egg is the first actual time the goose has broken free from the confines of its own game.

House House has kept up with evolving Untitled Goose Game by adding co-op play last year. There's still a lot of talk about a potential sequel, and with the game winning the Breakthrough Award at the 2019 Golden Joystick Awards, it's clear this crazy concept has been a hit. Of course, Untitled Goose Game and Hitman 3 are going for very different demographics. Even if Untitled Goose Game is inspired by Agent 47's mechanics, we don't have the brain-splatting violence of the goose taking out hits. Who knows, maybe we can hope for an R-rated sequel from House House?
