It has been a matter of months since Halo Infinite was delayed, originally due to be released as the Xbox Series X exclusive game upon the launch of the next-generation consoles. With the Series X and S having been out for over a week now, there has yet to be a slither of an update from the developers about when Halo Infinite will be ready.

At this stage, the silence has left people wondering if they're being cyberpunked.

However, 343 Industries has finally spoken to the community about the delay, alongside a Thanksgiving message.

"We know you're all very eager to know what's going on with Infinite and due to a myriad of circumstances in the wake of our date change, we've been quiet longer than we like" stated "Uny", a community manager of 343 Industries. He added "We're working with the team to provide an end of year update and establish plans to be much more communicative in the coming months.

"As hectic and crazy as 2020 has been, I think we'll be ending the year on a pretty strong note".

Whilst the message didn't exactly give us the news the community was hoping for - a date of release - at least they have addressed the lack of communication that has been troubling the excited anticipators.

They also added that "We want nothing more than to answer your questions. We can’t wait to go into deep detail about the rich story and characters in the Halo Infinite campaign, to dive into exactly how customization and progression works and shows up visually in the multiplayer experience, and provide a detailed look at the incredible depth of content across the entire game. But to do it right and do the game – and the talented team crafting it – justice, we need to show rather than tell", before they admitted that this is not yet possible.

With the clock ticking down to 2021, only time will tell when we can get our hands on Halo Infinite.
