Halo Infinite is set to make waves in the Halo community, Xbox circles, and the gaming world at large. As perhaps the biggest game yet to debut on the Xbox Game Pass, the title’s reveals so far have offered insight for a game that could easily be one of this generation’s defining titles, let alone one of the best in the Halo series.

One thing has been holding back the final wave of hype for Halo Infinite, and that’s its release date. We’re yet to get a concrete date for the game, and even with assurance that Infinite will be with us by the end of the year, there’s still a degree of uncertainty that doesn’t allow fans to truly latch on and have a moment to really be excited about something specific.

All that might be about to change...

What does Halo Infinite's classification in Australia mean?

Halo Infinite Is Rated - So It Could Be Coming Soon

Often in the gaming space, a rating comes very close to a release date announcement - no matter the region it has been rated in. This bodes well for Halo Infinite, which has just received the rating treatment in Australia.

The game is confirmed to have an M rating for the region, citing themes and language with “mild impact” and violence with “moderate impact”. It’s worth noting that Australia’s M rating is not the same as its namesake in America. Australia's M marks games as “not recommended for children under the age of 15”, making it more akin to an American T rating. That’s the same rating as was given to Halo 5: Guardians.

However, that’s not the exciting thing.

Halo Infinite’s Rating Means A Release Date Reveal Is Soon

As ratings and date confirmations never keep away from each other for long, there’s every chance this rating could be the hint that we need for an imminent release date announcement.

The final carrot-on-a-stick that’s kept fans waiting could be here very soon. Then again, so could the game itself. It’s thought that Halo Infinite will be coming at some point in the next few months, but we've sadly been disappointed before.

Either way, we can’t wait to get our hands on the game, so as long as its release date isn’t pushed back to next year, we’ll be more than happy.
