GTA Spider-Car Mod Is Back And Better Than Ever
It's safe to say Grove Street Games' GTA Trilogy hasn't quite hit the mark in terms of living up to its own hype. With glitches galore running rife in the trio of fan-favourites, GSG couldn't even get the Rockstar Games logo right. Now a GTA Spider-Car mod is making things fun again.
Rumours that Rockstar would be bringing the acclaimed trilogy of '00s games to a new generation had been doing the rounds for a while before they were officially announced. While the GTA Trilogy was poised to be one of 2021's biggest games, it's now shaping up to be this year's Cyberpunk 2077.
What is the GTA Spider-Car Mod
Back in the day, you might remember there was a Grand Theft Auto: Vice City mod that let you drive cars up walls to evade the police. Now, it's back and looking better than ever. Hooray for Spider-Car. Over on Nexus Mods, the updated Spider-Car mod allows you to escape arrest by clambering up the walls.
The Spider-Car does much more than just climb the side of buildings. It's also a super-strong piece of machinery that ploughs through other vehicles and is nearly indestructible. Be warned though, the Spider-Car will explode if it flips over. Also, it does have a tendency to sink to the bottom of the sea if you crash into water.
To use the Spider-Car's eight-legged abilities, drive up to a building and hold the handbrake. It will then use suction to latch on and climb to the top of the nearest skyscraper. You'll also need to be careful when downloading the mod because it'll probably conflict with any other handling.cfg files you might have downloaded.
Are Their More GTA Mods?
Much like the legendary Skyrim, GTA is filled with mods. Alongside the usual of adding Thomas the Tank Engine to roads, you could always use a gravity gun on everything from cars to aeroplanes, turn the law into the Springfield Police Department (hello, Chief Wiggum), or even give vehicles their own jetpack.
Of course, Take-Two Interactive went on the assault against mods before the GTA Trilogy was released. The publisher axed anything that was related to remastering old games - presumably because they looked better than GSG's eventual GTA Trilogy. Thankfully, the Spider-Car mod has survived the cull, so make the most of this fun addition
