GTA III Glitch Adds Giant Cars To Liberty City
The GTA Remastered Trilogy was a long time coming, and a huge source of hype for fans of the classic Grand Theft Auto games. Finally, we'd have a chance to return to the games we grew up with and play what should be the absolute definitive version of the nostalgic titles. And, uh… that's not quite what we got.
The GTA Trilogy is buggy, janky, and overall, poorly remastered. Fans are furious at the final product, as it doesn't even slightly live up to the level of quality they expect from Rockstar Games - and it's not just surface polish. The games feature unlicensed music buried in their code, and even shreds of the infamous 'Hot Coffee' mod that could threaten Rockstar Games all over again.
At least amidst the chaos, fans have found some hilarious bugs. One of the funniest is a fresh one that inflates the car you're driving like the sheriff's hat in Scary Movie 3.
GTA III Glitch Features Bonkers Car Growth
A new glitch has been discovered by players of GTA III Remastered, which sees the car you're driving gradually swell if you swerve in just the right way.
Quoting the tweet of another particularly cursed glitch, Twitter user DarkwingDusk69 shared a video that explains if you wiggle the car you're driving, it will gradually grow until it dwarfs the other cars around you.
It's a bizarre bug that makes the car you drive stretch itself out and swell - elongating the wheels and making the car flatten itself out along the road. It's such a strange bug, but frankly, it's not out of place with some of the other wild glitches that are packed within the three games in the remastered trilogy.
GTA III Glitch Is In The Original Game
The strange thing is, this isn't exclusive to the remastered collection.
Intriguingly, the tweet thread goes on to recount the fact that the glitch itself was actually present in the original game, meaning that this glitch is not a result of the poor porting of the remastered trilogy. There are a lot of steps required to make the glitch work, but it's completely attainable in both the original game and the remaster.
It's certainly odd that the remaster didn't patch this glitch out - but then again it has its own glitches to worry about. Sadly, the GTA Trilogy is one of those occasions the hype isn't all it's cracked up to be, with the maligned game already being dubbed this year's Cyberpunk 2077.
