GTA Fans Don't Think That The Remaster Is Worth A Re-Release
Grand Theft Auto fans want one thing, and it's disgusting...
It's quite safe to say that GTA loyalists won't rest until the sixth instalment of the franchise comes out, and it came ever more apparent by the reaction following Rockstar's trailer for the GTA V PlayStation 5 upgrade.
During the PlayStation Showcase, gamers were given a first glimpse at the long-awaited "expanded and enhanced" GTA V that is coming to next-gen consoles, including snippets of in-game action on the new engines.
The eight-year-old title, which has now lived through three generations of consoles, will be coming to PlayStation 5 in March 2022, and will have a focus on "technical improvements, visual upgrades and performance enhancements" to make the game "more beautiful and more responsive than ever."
However, fans are furious at the trailer, with very few notable changes.
Rockstar Release GTA V PlayStation5 Trailer
Within the trailer, Rockstar used the selling points of "improved graphics", "seamless character switching", and "explosive action".
Just 17 hours after being published on YouTube, the GTA V PS5 trailer has 23,000 dislikes - a whole 10,000 more clicks than the like button.
Fans Fume At GTA V PS5 Reveal
One fan commented on the reveal saying "At this point, fan-made mods have 'expanded and enhanced' the game more than the actual developer", with another questioning the developers by saying "Is this really expanded and enhanced? It looks no different than the PS4 version."
Other fans were also quick to express that they weren't shocked at the limited additions and lack of noise about a succeeding title, as so many people still play the game. One angered spectator said: "For as long as everyone’s playing GTA V then GTA V is all we’re gonna get. In the meantime, go out, live life, find someone, marry them, raise a family and have your kids play the updated 2040 edition of GTA V with you."
More anger poured out of fans due to the original delay of the next-generation upgrades, with players seemingly confused about what has caused the developers to push back the release from November 2021 to March 2022.
Rockstar also offered zero hints or inclines towards the next title, with an expected release date of 2025.
A game centred around heists and burglaries of the greatest scale has now been accused of stealing fans' $70 for the upgrade, as another long stint of Trevor's painful antic's and Michael's dreary tones await.
