Even though Rockstar Games still isn't ready to announce Grand Theft Auto 6, there's plenty that's been teased in terms of location, time period, and features - the problem is, is any of it true?

Coming off the back of the behemoth that is GTA 5 - which has become the most profitable game of all time - the hype for the next GTA game has no chance of dying down anytime soon. Fans are also making their demands for GTA 6 very public, with a thread on the subreddit gaining traction by asking players to post their GTA 6 wishlist.

What's On The GTA 6 Wishlist?

Users in the thread expressed tonnes of different wishes for the next title. Some certainly seem possible and could potentially be implemented depending on Rockstar’s goals for GTA 6. Of course, some come across as pipe dreams. Theorising sure is fun, though.

One of the most requested ideas since forever has been to implement multiple cities into one game, which would allow players to move freely between them. The majority of the GTA 6 leaks so far place it in Vice City, and one user voiced their desire for a “300 GB+ GTA 6” that would let them to fly to Liberty City or San Andreas. This actually wouldn’t be the first time this has happened in the franchise, as a San Andreas mission called Saint Mark’s Bistro made you fly to Liberty City and assassinate mobster, Marco Forelli.

Another user expressed their desire to explore more interior areas, something that GTA 4 dabbled in slightly with hospitals and other buildings (though mostly for missions and cutscenes). GTA 5 reigned this back in for some reason, but with a new-gen GTA title, it’s certainly not the most ridiculous ask.

There are others who want returning features from other Rockstar games. A feature from the recent Red Dead Redemption 2 saw you use your horse as a stash, where you could place your weapons and other items. Some enjoyed how grounded the feature felt and want its return, but with cars instead of horses. Another is the drug economy of GTA: Chinatown Wars, where players could sell drugs to increase the size of their empire.

As you can see, there's no shortage of ideas from fans for the next entry, and you can read more here

What Are The Current Rumours For GTA 6?

The biggest and most repeated rumour is that the next title is set to take place in Vice City during the mullet-filled, neon-soaked, cocaine-fueled '80s. Despite the 1980s setting becoming the accepted rumour, some fans think Rockstar has teased it taking part in the 90s instead.

Another weird leak - that does make sense if Vice City is correct - is that the next game could feature alligators and natural disasters like hurricanes. It could also borrow from the Battlefield series and feature destructible environments like skyscrapers. If that’s true, GTA is about to become even more chaotic.

Right now, we have no concrete confirmation of GTA 6 or any idea of a release date, but the constant leaks do provide hopes to series fans. There are murmurings that after the upcoming GTA: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition is released, there will be a GTA 6 teaser from Rockstar. Then again, there were those recent whispers the game may be in development hell since long-time GTA writer Dan Houser left the company.
