Kratos is flexing his muscles in a big way, as we can barely move for God of War news these days. Alongside God of War: Ragnarok's upcoming release, the beloved 2018 reboot is coming to PC for the first time ever. Following in the footsteps of UnchartedGod of War losing its PlayStation exclusivity is huge news.

Adding PC to Kratos' arsenal is sure to open the gates of Midgard to a whole new fan base, but it's far from the full package. Those of us who play on Xbox and Switch are still left out in the snow-capped mountains... or are we?

Is God Of War Coming To Xbox?

Even though the God of War PC port reportedly won't be handled by Sony Santa Monica, there's still plenty of hype that we'll have a whole new way to play. Importantly though, a new workaround means you'll (theoretically) be able to play the award-winning game on Xbox.

As pointed out by The Verge, Nvidia GeForce Now lets you play Steam games online on a variety of devices. Previously, Xbox's Microsoft Edge browser blocked the service, meaning you couldn't use the console to stream Steam. In a massive U-turn, Microsoft Edge now supports Nvidia GeForceNow and the Steam library is yours for the taking.

Even though God of War won't be native to Xbox, the fact it's landing on Steam on January 14 means Xbox players can pick up the Leviathan Axe using their controllers. It's yet another impressive step in Microsoft's continued middle finger to its biggest rival.

Is it all that it seems though? A quick scroll of the Twitterverse claims that Sony exclusives like Death Stranding appear to be blocked from Nvidia GeForce Now on Xbox but are fine to play on PC. Ultimately, we'll have to wait for God of War's PC release to see if the workaround works.

What's The Future For PlayStation Exclusives?

There are already placards being waved that the console wars are over now God of War is coming to PC. We'd say it's unfair to count Sony out just yet. Yes, God of War coming to PC (and technically Xbox) might seem like a misstep to some, but it's already been three years since Kratos first stepped out into the world of Norse gods and monsters. By now, most of us have likely played through the gritty reimagining numerous times.

Looking at the future, it's likely more PlayStation exclusives will come to PC - but not for a while. It's also important to remember the likes of big hitters like The Last of Us and its equally record-breaking sequel haven't made the leap. Just because Sony is willing to whore out its roster every now and then, the PlayStation is still the flagship home of its biggest games.

It's much the same for Xbox, with Microsoft confirming Starfield will launch as an Xbox exclusive and presumably port at a later date. Still, if you're an Xbox owner who has a hankering for Daddy Kratos' return to form, you could be in luck.
