God Of War Ragnarok Release Date Leaked By Sony

It sounds like you'll be waiting a while before Kratos will be lifting the Leviathan Axe, as a potential God of War Ragnarok release date has been unveiled online. Still, 2022 is pretty packed for games.
As the sequel to 2018's critically acclaimed God of War, Ragnarok continues the story of Kratos and son Atreus - with what is tipped as the final chapter. Sorry gang, there's no God of War: Love and Thunder to round off a Norse trilogy.
God Of War Release Date: When Is It?
For once, the word on the wire is official. This time, it's Sony that seems to have leaked the God of War Ragnarok release date as September 30, 2022. According to PlayStation Size, the date has been unearthed on the PlayStation database.
The writing was on the wall for God of War Ragnarok's 2021 release, and when it was finally delayed, staff at Sony Santa Monica faced death threats. Unfortunately, it was among a lot of AAA titles that saw their release date shift into 2022. In the end, most agreed it was better to let Kratos stew for a bit longer.
God Of War Release Date: Is It Real?
Unlike those sketchy 4chan rumours that plague our lives, we expect this God of War Ragnarok release date to be the real deal. Then again, there is a chance this could just be a placeholder. You might remember the likes of Halo Infinite shifted multiple times, with the various "official" release dates never quite sticking - this led to November's surprise drop of the game's multiplayer.
Either way, God of War Ragnarok is up there with Elden Ring and Starfield as 2022's most-anticipated titles. It's disappointing that September 2022 seems so far away, but with February being a particularly packed month for releases, it's probably for the best that we let the dust settle before Kratos muscles his way into our lives.
While it's only a matter of time until Sony gives God of War Ragnarok an official release date, expect this frosty fantasy to be dominating the charts next Christmas. We'd be quaking in our boots if we were Thor.
