While some of us will always associate the Ghost of Sparta with his signature Blades of Chaos, Sony Santa Monica has done a pretty good job of making us forget there was a God of War franchise before 2018's soft reboot. As the bulkier and bearded Kratos entered a new era, it was only right that the new God of War included a brand new weapon.

With Kratos packing his bags and leaving the sun-scorched climes of Greek mythology behind for Norse gods and monsters, he hid his Blades of Chaos and decided he'd take on Freya, Thamur, Modi, and co. with the blue-glowing Leviathan Axe. Everyone loved the Leviathan Axe, and now, someone has recreated it in real life.

Who Created The Real-Life God Of War Leviathan Axe?

As much more than just a fan project, the real-life God of War Leviathan Axe comes from French Twitter user Megret Agnes. They showed off TWO Leviathan Axe creations, with them being a combined effort of 130 hours. We've got to say, it's an impressive build that would look good above anyone's mantle.

With gold embellishments and blue runes from the fully-upgraded version of the Leviathan Axe, the axes look just as mythical as their in-game counterpart. Although Sony was once considering an R-rated God of War movie, the studio has denied there's currently one in active development. If there is, someone should hire Megret Agnes to create a Leviathan Axe prop. We're just disappointed we don't get to see these replicas in action.

What's Next For God Of War?

Following the runaway success of 2018's God of War giving the franchise a much-needed return to form, it was always a given we'd get a sequel. After months of speculation, the rumoured God of War Ragnarok was finally confirmed. We might've been disappointed that it was delayed into 2022 - and there won't be a third game to complete a trilogy - but the story is set to continue in a big way.

Whatever is coming, we doubt God of War is down for the count forever. The series first made its mark on the PlayStation 2 in 2005, and since, has become one of the best-known PlayStation exclusives. Whether we get an Atreus spin-off or Kratos becomes the Norse God of War as he lays down the Leviathan Axe, we're excited to see how our brief trip to the Norse realms comes to a close.
