The Los Angeles Gladiators have sent a letter of intent to win the Overwatch League in 2021. Once again this off-season, the team has made a huge signing, bringing on back-to-back Overwatch League champion Grant "Moth" Espe.

Moth has been considered one of the best main supports in the league over the last two seasons, becoming a role star in 2019. For the Shock, he was known as a vocal leadership figure that was able to keep the strategic framework running on the server acting as an extension of Dae-hee "Crusty" Park and his team. It's expected that Moth will assume a similar position for the Gladiators, bringing a lot of intangible value on top of his excellent Lucio and Mercy.

Previously, the Gladiators already made big moves, recruiting Jin-seo "Shu" Kim and Young-hun "MuZe" Kim. On top of their existing roster, the Gladiators appear to be an early challenger with title ambitions to bring it to the Shock. While strictly speaking already done with the off-season in that they have a functioning team signed, further additions could be coming to bolster the bench and plan for all hurdles that 2021 might have in store.
