FURIA Star Hits Incredible VAC Wallbangs On Match Point In ESL Pro League
Over the years, the ESL Pro League has thrown up some incredible moments of game-breaking talent as the world's best Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) players collide for huge sums of prize money.
Currently in its 14th series, the ESL Pro League has already got the better of the likes of Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz, who lashed out at his own monitor due to a frustrating denial of an ace at the epitome of a decisive second game.
With players looking to get their hands on a slice of the $750,000 prize pool, it often comes down to a moment of brilliance to either save the game from the despairing stare of defeat, or a capitalising clutch to take home the spoils.
This season, it was FURIA's Vinicius "VINI" Figueiredo who showcased a flash of brilliance in their match against Team Liquid, in which the winner would progress to playoffs, while the loser would be sent packing.
With a game each on the scoreboard, and the decider poised at 15-17 match point in Liquid's favour, VINI decided he wasn't ready to go home quite yet, and pulled off a sensational double-kill to keep FURIA in the game.
Having seen the bomb filter onto the A site with only two players left alive against three of Liquid's squad, the odds were against FURIA and the game looked to be slipping from their grasp. However, VINI was all that they needed, as the 22-year-old Brazilian picked up two of the most beautiful wall bangs back-to-back to cancel out any opportunity of a plant.
FURIA were soon able to find another round in overtime to equal the scores. Despite VINI's best efforts for FURIA, it was Keith "NAF" Markovic of TL who shot the decisive bullet with a game-ending no-scope to send Liquid through to the Playoffs.
Team Liquid will now face Fnatic before a tie with Heroic, who have recently brushed aside their off-field investigations to sweep their ESL Pro League group 5-0.
