They say that in Fortnite, no one can hear you scream. Well, that's if the latest rumours are to be believed. Following in the footsteps of the Predator crossover being Chapter 2 Season 5's secret Battle Pass skin, we could see the stealthy sci-fi favourite facing off against its most iconic enemy in the next few weeks. And no, we don't mean Arnold Schwarzenegger's Dutch. Bringing the silver screen to the Fortnite map, are we getting another gaming version of Alien vs Predator?

Since Galactus tore open the Zero Point at the end of Chapter 2 Season 4, we've seen Agent Jonesy try and wrangle various characters from escaping the Loop. To do this, he's employed some pretty famous hunters from pop culture, with everyone from The Walking Dead's Daryl and Michonne to Terminator's T-800 and Sarah Connor. Things kicked off with the Mandalorian to start the Battle Pass and have gone from there. Alongside the various leaks and rumours, the latest suggest a Fortnite Xenomorph skin is on the way.

What's the Fortnite Xenomorph skin rumour?

Posting on Twitter, known dataminer ShiinaBR showed off a new portal image and what sounds like effects from Ridley Scott's iconic 1979 movie. Eagle-eared fans noted the effects sound like they've been pulled from the iconic movie's Nostromo spaceship that carried the doomed crew of Ellen Ripley and the rest of Weyland-Yutani's alien cannon fodder. It's also interesting that the hissing and drooling sound isn't too dissimilar to the sound effects we heard in Sega's pulse-pounding Alien: Isolation

Putting the clues together, a Fortnite Xenomorph skin isn't too outside the realms of possibility. For a while now, we've been told the next skin will be male and XL. Although the Alien movies have largely focussed on Xenomorphs being female, it's only the Alien Queen that's been female, while the drones have usually been depicted as male. The XL skin has been guessed as everyone from Thanos to Peter Griffin, but the Xenomorph would be much more on-brand for Season 5.

When could we see the Fortnite Xenomorph skin?

If you weren't sold on the idea of a Fortnite Xenomorph skin, the clues don't end there. A document sent out to prominent YouTubers like Ali-A mentions a mysterious "space banana" - suggesting we're heading to the cosmos. Finally, the recent teaser released by Epic is chocked-full of Alien-centric teasers. There's the audio log making reference to "a very normal spaceship on a very normal shipping route", that is "running on tech that seems to be from 1986". For those up on their movie history, James Cameron's legendary Aliens was the sequel to Scott's Alien and released in 1986.

We've already had one nod to Cameron with the Terminator skins, so what's one more? As a final cherry on top, the log mentions a "warrant officer", which was the original role of Sigourney Weaver's Ellen Ripley. Ripley has gone on to become one of the biggest action heroines of all time and starred in the first four Alien movies. If the XL skin isn't for the Xenomorph, also remember a male and female skin set was teased as a potential WandaVision crossover. It's easy to imagine Ripley and the Xeno going head to head.

With Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 5 expected to end on March 15, there isn't long to go until the curtain drops on the current arc. There's no official news on whether a Fortnite Xenomorph skin is coming to the map, but with the teasers ramping things up, expect to find out in the next few days. Just like the Terminator skins, we'd expect to see Ripley and the Xeno in the shop. Hopefully, we'll be shouting "Get away from her, you b*tch" before the season is out.
