Challenges offer players the opportunity to complete a specific task and receive XP in return. Completing challenges throughout the season is essential for levelling up the Battle Pass. Some players love the activity of challenge hunting. For others, it may feel like a chore. Regardless, they are a necessity for those looking to earn all of the exclusive rewards.

Week 11 had us searching for love. Week 12 tasks players with visiting new locations, retrieving long lost family portraits, destroying inflatable tubeman llamas, and much more.

Without further ado, let’s take a look at our Challenge Guide below for an in-depth breakdown of every single Week 12 challenge and the best course of action for completing them.

Deal damage within 15 seconds of gliding (200) - 20,000 XP

This challenge is a Team Rumble player’s dream. In Team Rumble, you’re always gliding. Every time you die, you glide down onto the map. Plus, players have a redeployable glider that can be used at will.

With this in mind, just play super aggressive after dropping. When on solid ground, build a couple of ramps up and dive on enemy players. Keep pushing and unleashing fire on enemies as soon as you hit land. With this strategy, the 200 damage needed for this challenge will come in no time.

Visit Scenic Spot, Gorgeous Gorge, and Mount Kay (1) - 20,000 XP

The next challenge asks players to visit three unmarked points of interest (POI). The POIs in question are Scenic Spot, Gorgeous Gorge, and Mount Kay.

Scenic Spot can be found within the triangle of Craggy Cliffs, Pleasant Park and Colossal Coliseum. A giant hill with dozens of trees - it’s hard to miss. As the name suggests, Scenic Spot offers a beautiful vantage point of much of the Fortnite map.

Gorgeous Grove is north-west of Lazy Lake and north-east of Hunter’s Haven. Despite not being named on the map, it’s an iconic spot with a massive waterfall that led to many players’ deaths in the early days of Chapter 2.

Finally, Mount Kay is the large mountain just south of Catty Corner. Mount Kay is home to Weather Station and a couple of other small landmarks.

Visit these three locations to receive 20,000 XP. All three of these locations are marked on the challenge map at the top of this article.

Destroy inflatable tubeman llamas at gas stations (3) - 20,000 XP

Strange challenge, right? Players must destroy three inflatable tubeman llamas that reside at different gas stations on the Fortnite map.

Thankfully, the gas stations in question are all packed fairly tight and close to one another. Players can follow a straight path down from Colossal Coliseum to Mount Kay and hit every gas station.

As with the above challenge, the three gas stations players must visit are marked on the challenge map near the top of this article.

Find a family portrait from a shipwreck (1) - 20,000 XP

This challenge sends players on the hunt for a long lost family portrait. Once again, we head to Mount Kay. There’s a small cove below the south side of the mountain. Here, players will find a grouping of shipwrecked vessels. The family portrait lies in the sand next to the green ship.

Throw a fish back into the water (1) - 20,000 XP

A simple and easy challenge, players must throw a single fish back into the water. Of course, fish can be acquired through fishing, but they’re also available in freezers and off the corpses of slain enemies.

With a fish in hand, hold the left trigger on your controller or right mouse button on your mouse. This will make your character pull back their arm and aim at the fish. Now, press the same button you’d use to shoot a gun, and you’ll send the fish flying back into its aquatic home.

Hit different opponents with a harpoon gun (3) - 20,000 XP

Harpoon Guns are one of the many wacky weapons available to Fortnite players. Harpoon Guns can be used to fish, but also as an offensive tool. Harpooned enemies will be dragged toward the user and dealt significant damage.

The Harpoon Gun is somewhat difficult to use, so go for this challenge in Team Rumble, where you’ll keep your items upon death. To acquire one, search through fishing rod barrels on the docks around places like Craggy Cliffs and Dirty Docks.

Once you have the Harpoon gun in hand, it’s time to hunt down some targets. Shoot the Harpoon Gun at enemy players until you make contact. A good strategy is to hook them in and finish them off with another close-range weapon like a shotgun. Remember, you must hit three different opponents, so there’s no point in wasting another shot on the same target.

Thanks to Team Rumble, players will spawn back in with their same inventory. So, just keep trying until you land three shots on three different opponents.

Catch different weapon types from fishing spots (3) - 20,000 XP

Another fishing-related challenge, these three challenges can all be attempted in unison. This one, in particular, asks players to catch three different weapon types from fishing spots.

Keep in mind; this doesn’t mean different rarities like some challenges of the past. An Uncommon Assault Rifle is worth just the same as a Rare Assault Rifle. The focus of this challenge is different weapon types. For example, catching any rarity shotgun, pistol, and sniper would complete this challenge.

Unfortunately, challenges like this come down to RNG. There’s no telling how many lines you’ll have to cast until you catch the necessary weapons. Just keep on fishing until the RNG gods bless you.

If you’ve yet to throw a fish back into the water, throw any extra fish you catch back now and double-down on the XP gains.
