Fortnite Speed Exploit Lets You Run ‘Twice As Fast As Other Players’

Players had better put their running shoes on as the latest Fortnite speed exploit is allowing some to run up to twice as fast as others. We know we're in the midst of the Marvel-themed Chapter 2 Season 4, but we didn't realise someone also added Quicksilver to the roster of heroes and villains.

Of course, the speedy offspring of Magneto isn't actually part of Season 4's Marvel skins, however, at the speed some people are moving, you'd be forgiven for thinking so.

While some of us like traversing the map via Choppa, the newly introduced vehicles, or even the latest addition of the Silver Surfer's board, others prefer to hit the ground (literally) running and make their way around on foot. There's nothing tenser than being hunted down by an opponent and having to dip, dodge, duck, and dive to avoid being taken out.

Givin the advantage of running at super speed obviously puts the rest of us at a disadvantage. The problem is catching those speedy cheaters in the act.

Posting on Reddit, u/bigmanhenry conducted a test and showed how they could run a distance in around 14 seconds (without any consumables). Using the Fortnite speed exploit, they were then able to shave some serious time off their run. So how have they done it? Well, it all comes down to using a Spicy Fish, a Pepper, and stacking them. To unlock super speed, find a fishing rod and head to one of the map's many fishing holes.

With a bit of patience, you'll need to catch a Rare Spicy Fish and save it for when you want that mad dash. Consume the Rare Spicy Fish and the Pepper, and voila, you're the next Usain Bolt. There are other ways to outrun the competition through the use of Crash Pads, Bouncers, and some of the new Marvel skins, but on the whole, the Rare Spicy Fish and Pepper combo is a lot easier to come across.

Now that Epic has been made aware of the issue, the question is will it stay in-game or will the stacking ability be patched out? Seeing a mad blur of players dashing around the map is sure to cause a mess.

Then again, the likes of the Pepper and Rare Spicy Fish are designed to give you a boost, so we'll have to see if the latest Fortnite speed exploit is nixed. For the time being, it's a case of, on your marks, get set, go.
