It looks like the next Fortnite season five update will include some pretty big map changes, according to a new leak.

The leak mainly centres around the Colossal Coliseum. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the area, it’s a Point Of Interest (POI) in Battle Royale (added in Chapter 2 of Season 5) located within coordinate F3 and F4, east of Salty Towers and Risky Reels, and west of Dirty Docks.

The Colossal Coliseum POI looks like it’s going to change, as Fortnite dataminer, Mang0e, tweeted: “A new variant was added for the Coliseum in 15.10, but I don't think it's being used in-game yet.”

The images show the Coliseum filled with water which, as Mang0e points out, is historically accurate. They followed up the initial Tweet by saying: “Fun Fact: They used to fill the real Coliseum with water and have massive ship battles for audience entertainment.”

One person responded to the Tweet, saying: “Oh god, just what we need, bouncy fights in the coliseum”.

This comes after leaker HYPEX revealed that developer Epic Games have been testing something called "Weapon Mod Slots".

They Tweeted: “We might get a new weapons mechanic at some point, epic started testing a new thing called "Weapon Mod Slots" lately and it seems like it gives the weapon abilities/attachments.”

The apparent new weapon mechanic would add abilities and attachments to the guns already found in the game. This could look like more of a loadout system similar to other games such as Warzone or Apex Legends, where items like barrel stabilisers and scopes are found on the ground or created/crafted, and attached to guns. These attachments upgrade the gun.

Either way, it looks as though Epic Games is not going to stop innovating any time soon, and we can’t wait to see what else they do in 2021.
