Fortnite has been overwhelmed with Season 5 content lately, and players and content creators alike are genuinely having fun with the game. The game had a very steady rate of updates in the last season which brought back many gamers into the franchise. Even though the previous season was big, and probably had the most ambitious collaboration yet with Marvel as it featured a lot of superheroes in the realm of Fortnite, some fans weren’t happy with the commercialisation of the game, and the lack of original content made it even worse for non-Marvel fans.

The developers Epic Games sharply took notice of the situation and introduced some great changes to Fortnite’s present Season 5, and it has checked all the boxes so far. The best thing about this season is that it’s just getting started. Therefore, there is ample space for the developers to make this season even sweeter than it is now.

THE BOUNTY SYSTEM IN FORTNITE HAS BEEN THE BEST ADDITION THIS SEASON

Starting with the biggest gameplay mechanic change so far, the Bounty system in Fortnite has been tremendous. The NPCs (non-playable characters) are spread all across the map, which are the Fortnite characters themselves. These interactive characters grant enemy bounties, upgrade weapons, sell exotic weapons, and even tell the player stories about the mysterious island of Fortnite.

Players interact with them by using Gold Bars which can be collected through enemy eliminations, completing bounties on enemies, finding secret loot vaults, and more. This new currency showcased a new dimension to the game as players have something to make their in-game grinds more pleasurable than before. Moreover, this currency can also be stacked and used in any match that the player requires, making it an evergreen grind to get the highest gold bar count in Fortnite.

The previous seasons of Fortnite had very stale gameplay after the first initial fights, which frustrated many players in the game. Finding enemies was tough, as players had to loot up and outrun the storm until they found any enemies on their way. Now, with the Bounty system in place, players are incentivised to search the enemy players and get the bounty, which keeps them in the loop of action. Moreover, passive players can also make use of this system and hide from their bounty hunters to receive the gold.

All in all, this massive refreshment to Fortnite has fixed some vital areas of concern in the game.

COLLABORATIONS OVERLOAD HAS BEEN ERADICATED, AND THEY DO NOT AFFECT THE GAME IN A SIGNIFICANT MANNER

Fortnite Chapter 2 - Season 4 saw a massive seasonal collaboration with Marvel, and they overshadowed the integral lore characters of the game. Even though it was awesome to have these superhero cosmetics and Marvel point of interests in the game, it had less impact on a non-Marvel fan as the whole season would look like a huge pile of promotion for Marvel.

After the massive Galactus Live Event, Season 5 brought a breath of fresh air for the gamers.  It introduced multiple original characters, updating the lore of Agent Jonesy through the cinematics and the bounty hunters theme of the season. It also has a pinch of the Mandalorian making its way into the game. However, unlike the previous season, players can stay away from the glittery collaborations if they don’t like them, as the game has ample stuff to keep them busy in case they aren’t a big fan of the collaborations.

Several other collaborations like God of War have made their way into Fortnite as a cosmetic and several other leaks for the Master Chief Halo cosmetic and Predator collaborations have also been leaked by data-miners, which will be adding more content for players in Season 5.

THE FORTNITE STORYLINE GROWS AS AGENT JONESY IS TRYING TO PROTECT THE REALITY

The Fortnite Storyline has been going downhill since the last season, as many mysteries were not solved with the live event. This led many gamers into a complete frenzy as the game was completely under Marvel, and key characters of the game such as Agent Jonesy and Midas were thrown out of the picture.

At the start of the Season 5, Agent Jonesy was showcased in his office which is rumoured to be under the Order organisation. He ventured through the Zero point to find other Bounty hunters to protect the reality of the Fortnite.

Even though the Seven have not yet played a great role in this season, but they were mentioned in the cinematic teasing their arrival in Fortnite. That should spice up things and provide answers to some of the upcoming lore questions in the game. Midas has also mysteriously vanished in the game, leaving no trace behind, leading many players to believe that a Shark ate the man with the golden touch in Season 3.

Fortnite Chapter 2 - Season 5 has a strong foundation, and it has the ability to be one of the best seasons that the players have witnessed in a very long time.
