Fortnite is entering its 14th season, and the war to save reality has begun. Galactus threatens the universe and our Fortnite champions have recruited the help of Marvel superheroes such as Thor, Wolverine, and Iron Man. Together, they must defend reality at all costs.

The new season brings with it new locations, weapons/items, cosmetics, and of course, challenges. Completing challenges throughout the season is essential for levelling up the Battle Pass. Some players love the activity of challenge hunting. For others, it may feel like a chore. Regardless, they are a necessity for those looking to earn all of the exclusive rewards.

Challenges were actually nerfed this season. Standard challenges now offer 25,000 XP and the Party Assist challenge grants 50,000 XP. Compare this to last season where standard challenges gave 35,000 XP, and the Party Assist challenges offered a massive 80,000 XP. This means completing all of the challenges is even more pertinent this season.

Without further ado, let’s take a look at our Challenge Guide below for an in-depth breakdown of every single Week 1 challenge, and the best course of action for completing them.

Search Chests at Dirty Docks (7) - 25,000 XP

Despite the new season, challenges haven't changed much. We still have the same old "Eliminations at …" and "Search Chests at …" challenges. The first challenge of Chapter 2 - Season 4 asks players to search seven chests at Dirty Docks.

This is going to be a hectic one. "Search Chest" challenges are always busy. Everyone wants to complete their challenges, and there are simply not enough chests to go around. Things will be even worse this week. With the new season and Battle Pass, literally everyone will be rushing to do their challenges and level up the new Battle Pass. It would not be surprising to see at least 15 players headed to Dirty Docks each game.

Players in a rush should do this challenge in Team Rumble. Check the bus path - if your team is on the side away from Dirty Docks, leave the match. Once you've found a good bus path, hot-drop on Dirty Docks and loot as many chests as possible. After all the chests have been searched, leave the match. Your progress will still count. Repeat these steps until you have looted seven chests. This strategy will ensure you have fewer players to compete with.

If you have the patience, just save this challenge for last. Finding seven unopened chests will be so much easier later in the week when everyone else has already struggled through the challenge.

Eliminations at Holly Hedges (3) - 25,000 XP

Another traditional Fortnite challenge. Players must eliminate three enemies at Holly Hedges.

Opposite of the challenge above, this challenge should be taken care of ASAP. Holly Hedges is a rather inconsequential POI, and there aren't always a lot of players there. It could be a struggle to find targets for the challenge later on in the season.

However, the recency of this challenge means that Holly Hedges will be packed for days to come. All players need to get eliminations here if they want to unlock the sweet Battle Pass rewards - like the Marvel Superheroes. That means there will be plenty of prey. Head to Holly Hedges as soon as possible and take out three members of the crowd to complete this challenge.

Collect Floating Rings at Misty Meadows (4) - 25,000 XP

A challenge most players should be familiar with, this one requires players to collect a floating ring at Misty Meadows.

If you played last season, you'll remember the small blue rings floating above different Fortnite POIs. In Chapter 2 - Season 4, there will be a few of these over Misty Meadows. Challenge seekers should travel to Misty Meadows and scout out the area. Most of these rings should be viewable without too much searching. Jump through all four, and the challenge will complete.

Specific ring locations can be found in the image below. The first ring appears on top of the large building on the right side of Misty Meadows. A second ring can be found on top of the shack to the south of Misty Meadows. We placed a light blue circle in the top left image where this second ring will appear.

The third ring is on the very top of the large Clock Tower. The fourth and final ring can be found above the small shack on the far right side of the POI.

Eliminate Stark Robots at Quinjet Patrol landing sites (5) - 325,000 XP

Stark Robots are the Chapter 2 - Season 3 version of Henchmen. They are AI troops that fight and defend certain locations on the map. This challenge requires the player to defeat five of them.

Right as the match starts, the Quinjets will blast by the Battle Bus. Players can watch where these jets go, and the landing site will emit a blue smoke into the air. From there, plan your approach. The Stark Robots can be tough, so it's best not to land directly on top of them. Instead, land at a close location and loot up a bit. Once you're comfortable, make your way to the landing site. Eliminate five of the Stark Robots and loot the spoils.

Gas up a vehicle at Lazy Lake (1) - 25,000 XP

Probably the most straightforward challenge of the week. Take one of the new cars to Lazy Lake and fill the tank with gas at the gas station. It's as simple as that.

Deal damage to opponents with Stark Industries Energy Rifles (1,000) - 25,000 XP

This challenge goes hand in hand with the "Eliminate Stark Robots" challenge. The Stark Industries Energy Rifle is a new weapon introduced in Chapter 2 - Season 4. These rifles drop from Stark Robots and Stark Supply Drones. Pick one up off the body of a Stark Robot and use it for the rest of the game. The challenge will be granted once 1,000 damage has been inflicted.

Eliminate Doctor Doom at Doom’s Domain (3) - 50,000 XP

Doctor Doom has taken over Pleasant Park. The Marvel supervillain can be found posted up in a mansion at the location. Players must defeat Doctor Doom to earn 50,000 XP.

Doctor Doom possesses powerful abilities capable of one-shotting players. Defeating the notorious villain will require tactical care. Doctor Doom does not have much health - team-shot him to bring him down quickly. Take cover when you see him cast his Mystical Bomb, as it can potentially one-shot players. Also, Doctor Doom will set the whole house on fire, so watch where you step. While this challenge can be done solo, Fortnite recommends using a squad of four players using the updated Party Assist feature

Upon death, Doctor Doom will drop two Mythic items. One is Doctor Doom’s Arcane Gauntlets, and the other is his Mystical Bomb.  Additionally, Doctor Doom will leave behind the Dr Doom Keycard. This can be used to open the Doom Domain Vault.

Deal damage to opponents at Craggy Cliffs  (500) - 25,000 XP

Lots of damaging and eliminating going on in this first week of challenges. This challenge will work similarly to the “Eliminate opponents” challenges. Only you just need to do damage, not secure the kill.

This challenge is best attempted by hot-dropping. The beginning of the match is when it’s easiest to rack up kills and damage. Players are under-looted and usually more bundled together. Drop into Craggy Cliffs at the start of the game and attack enemies on sight. The challenge will complete after 500 total damage has been dealt.
