Fortnite Fans Are Convinced The Original Map Is Coming Back

Fortnite fans should prepare for a blast from the past as one wild theory thinks the original map could return in the wake of Chapter 2 Season 4. Who could forget the nostalgic days of the OG map and just chilling in Tomato Town?

We're in the midst of the "marvellous" Marvel Season 4, which has seen the good, the bad, and the ugly, of Marvel Comics come jumping through the Multiverse to land in the Season 2 map. The question is, where have they come from and what's Galactus' endgame? We thought the original map was sucked into the abyss as part of the "The End" event in October 2019, but as we approach its one-year anniversary, it's time to look a little closer at the facts.

Posting on Reddit, u/SvenWillNeverDie420 posed an interest theory on how the end of Chapter 2 Season 4 will see a reverse of "The End" where some sort of black hole will spit out the original map. Taking a deep dive, the fan wrote, "The wormhole connection... So what we all thought was a black hole turns out to be a wormhole," Reddit user "SvenWillNeverDie420" wrote. "A wormhole is a hypothetical connection between widely separated parts of space. This makes sense because the orb seems to be on both maps. *the reason Galactus is coming to our map* 'nexus war'".

SvenWillNeverDie420 went full Professor Erik Selvig and highlighted the shared points of Pleasant Park, Salty Springs, and Retail Row on Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 maps. They also highlighted the well-hidden Easter egg of Iron Man tweaking the Battle Bus to possibly master inter-dimensional travel. What if the original map wasn't obliterated, but simply moved elsewhere?

The latest round of theories also fits with previous comments made by Epic Games' worldwide creative director, Donald Mustard. In August, Mustard cryptically tweeted that everything was connected and that things were about to "kick into overdrive". Players have got so wrapped up in the smorgasbord of Marvel characters and content to remember these words.

We've already seen hints Christmas content on the horizon, with a tease of a Gingerbread Renegade Raider skin. Apart from that, we've got no idea what's coming in Chapter 2 Season 5. Perhaps the only thing against the idea of the Chapter 1 map coming back is the fact it's not the end of a season.

Although everyone is expecting a similarly cataclysmic revamp when we reach Chapter 2 Season 10, having such an overhaul at the mid-point would be one way to shake things up.
