When you think of family-friendly games in the 21st century, Fortnite is arguably the first playground that leaps to mind, right? The sugary-sweet battle royale has been one of the few bloodbath titles to maintain an incredible lack of gore and hyper-violence (despite the heavy-duty firearms), and has made its name as everyone’s BR game.

It seems like Epic Games let this fact pass it by, however, as developers have been forced to remove an emote from the game, it doesn’t look particularly family-friendly to us.

How is the new Fortnite emote NSFW?

The Bear Hug emote was brought into Fortnite during Chapter 2 Season 7 to commemorate the Ariana Grande Rift tour event.  With the pop princess being a huge presence in-game, fans were expected to love the emote. However, it had some unfortunate applications, as a glitch has been making some players sink to their knees, and…well, you can see for yourself.

The tweet has been doing some serious numbers, reaching 6.3k likes and 1.2k retweets at the time of writing. A lot of people have been made aware of this NSFW bug - which is presumably what led to Epic Games’ reaction to it.

Much to the dismay of the more immature Fortnite players (we don’t blame you, it’s very funny), Epic Games has elected to pull the plug on the emote and drag it kicking and screaming from the Fortnite store.

Even if it won't return in NSFW form, the Bear Huge emote will be back. Epic is working on a bug fix, meaning it’ll be back up once the problem has been ironed out. For now, those who bought the emote have the option to get a refund or wait until it’s added back into the game.

It’s a fair move on Epic Games’ behalf. To be fair, the emote was a little more… intimate than intended. Fingers crossed that Fortnite's new wave of emotes are a little less prone to going viral for the wrong reasons on Twitter.
