Fortnite Update Hints At More Marvel Skins

If you're ready to "marvel" in the magic of Marvel Comics, Epic Games could have a surprise for you with Fortnite. While we're still reeling from the comic book chaos of the Marvel-themed Chapter 2 Season 4, Epic Games Worldwide Creative Director Donald Mustard already teased it was just the start of a bright future of collabs. Although the story has moved forward with Agent Jonesy trying to stop characters from escaping the loop, Season 5 saw the arrival of some Marvel favourites with the Marvel Royalty and Warriors pack.

As we gallop toward the Season 5 endgame, a sneaky update to the Fortnite shop hints that more Marvel skins are on the way. With Season 4 and the Royalty pack ticking off a lot of our favourites, some might be asking who's left to add the roster. The answer is - plenty of them. From Scarlet Witch to Spider-Man, Magneto to Ms. Marvel, we could keep Marvel crossovers going for decades. So, what's the leak?

What is the Fortnite Marvel skins leak?

Trusted Fortnite dataminer ShiinaBR shared a tweet claiming the Marvel section of the game's shop has just been updated. This would suggest something Marvel-related could be just over the horizon. The replies soon filled with players' requests for whom they'd like to see, with most asking for the return of the Star-Lord skin from 2019. Of course, Marvel is everywhere right now thanks to the continued success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Only recently, we covered rumours that a WandaVision crossover could bring Scarlet Witch and Vision Fortnite skins to the party, but it sadly didn't come true.

Elsewhere, news that more Marvel superstars could be coming has reignited th idea that Ant-Man is on the way. A recent datamine found a skin codename for "SmallFry", which some have speculated could point to the pint-sized hero. Most skins have tied to the overarching story of the season and been teased through the in-map portal tears, however, let's remember The Flash raced into action as a DC crossover with seemingly no warning or tie to the narrative.

When could we see more Marvel Fortnite skins?

In Season 5 alone, we've seen several DC crossovers. As well as "The Last Laugh" bundle bringing Joker and Poison Ivy to the party, we've also had Green Arrow as part of the Fortnite Crew, and the aforementioned Flash skin that also came alongside an LTM. Despite criticisms Epic is leaning too heavily into pop culture to sell skins, there's no denying the popularity of collaborations. As well as Predator being part of the Battle Pass as a secret (and rare) skin, we've parted with our V-Bucks to suit up as everyone from The Walking Dead's Daryl and Michonne, The Terminator, and the cast of Street Fighter.

Even if it's no-one new from the Marvel vault, it's entirely possible Epic is rolling out the old guard. Some players were disappointed that they didn't manage to get their hands on the skins from last season's Battle Pass. If Groot, Thor, Wolverine and co. were put back in the shop, we're sure they'd be a popular addition. As with all these potential Fortnite leaks, we'll have to wait and see. In recent memory, proposed leaks about Five Nights at Freddy's and Family Guy crossovers turned out to be dead ends, but if the magic of Marvel is destined to return, we'd be more than happy.
