It's all change in Fortnite, and while we're still enjoying the extra-terrestrial terrors of Chapter 2 Season 7, some of us can't wait to jump off the Battle Bus for the inevitable Season 8. The latest leaks point to the arrival of a major Fortnite favourite - with Kevin the Cube making his long-awaited return.

When it comes to Fortnite, we're used to the likes of Jonesy, Fishstick and Bushranger tottering about the map. Looking at the bigger narrative of the battle royale's story, major players like The Foundation, Doctor Slone, and Kevin the Cube seem to have an even more important part to play.

Is Kevin the Cube coming back to Fortnite?

According to prominent leaker ShiinaBR, a Reddit dump on the Fortnite subreddit contains a tonne of accurate leaks. Apparently, Season 7 will end with Kevin the Cube's return, where the faceless cube will be controlled by a mysterious character referred to as the "Queen" (for now). Her endgame is unclear, but she's apparently going to be integral to Chapter 3 - suggesting she's in this for the long haul.

Speaking of Chapter 3, it's unsurprisingly claimed that there will be a complete redesign of the map. Finally, we'll get to find out more about The Seven in Chapter 3. All of the above is pretty standard fodder, with the idea that we'll uncover The Seven's location in Chapter 3 being an easy guess if all of the above is an elaborate hoax.

In terms of what else is coming in Season 8, we could continue the DC collaborations in the wake of Superman's imminent arrival. Members of the Justice League and Suicide Squad could be on the way, as well as a horrifying The Batman Who Laughs skin. Epic is reportedly trying to get its hands on the rights to Naruto for the Season 8 Battle Pass, and those rumours of an Ariana Grande skin could lead to an in-game concert on a par with Travis Scott.

When did we last see Kevin the Cube?

While Kevin the Cube was a key part of Chapter 1's story, he's been pretty quiet recently. We last physically saw Kevin in Season X's all-star finale - with the cosmic cube appearing alongside the floating island through a Rift Beacon. However, that doesn't mean we've forgotten about him.

In Chapter 2 Season 1, Steamy Stacks was introduced alongside a mysterious company called Kevolution Energy. Added to this, the shards of Spire Artifact from the Spire look like they're made up from shards of Kevin. Glyph Master Raz seemed to be possessed by the power of these shards.

We might be preoccupied with aliens right now, but with a purple hue still hanging over the map, it was only a matter of time before Kevin the Cube muscled his way back onto the map to cause some cosmic chaos. If it's true, welcome back, buddy.
