The Fortnite Chapter 3 map has allegedly been revealed, which means we're on the cusp of the next era of the popular battle royale. Fortnite is still going strong some four years after it hit the mainstream, but still, we're only on the second chapter.

With rumours that Fortnite Chapter 2 could be coming to a close early, players are obviously asking what comes next. Remembering how Chapter 1's "The End" event swallowed the OG map and spat out a whole new version of Fortnite, we're guessing some equally monumental changes are just around the corner.

What Is The Fortnite Chapter 3 Map?

When Fortnite gave itself a Chapter 2 reboot, only a handful of Chapter 1 locations made the cut. Although the likes of Pleasant Park and Retail Row survived and are still around to this day, other now-iconic POIs including Lazy Lake and Weeping Woods joined the family. This time, it looks like Epic is preparing for an even bigger shakeup.

The original leak came from redditor u/Edmire2K, but it's now gone viral. In particular, SentinelCentral shared the concept and then posted beneath with an archaic leak of the Chapter 2 map. Remember, the Chapter 2 map that was shared was very close to the final version that went live.

This Fortnite Chapter 3 map has been pieced together from the various snippets the OP has gained from a "friend" at Epic. We don't really know where to begin, but the big takeaways include rideable jetskis, the return of original POIs like Loot Lake and Tilted Towers, and a diverse range of different locales.

Interestingly, the addition of an island called Dusty Desert would be the perfect place to put that rumoured pyramid POI. There's an apparent Monster Mansion locale that sounds like a 24/7 Fortnitemares, a pirate captain similar to Blackheart has taken up residence in The Deck, while IO camps are buried in dense bundles.

New mechanics include "Mole Mittens" that let you climb, a sword and shield combo to battle knights, the centre of the map granting enhanced abilities like speed and jumping. If that wasn't enough, matches are apparently bumping up the player count to 150 and there are TWO storm circles to contend with. Phew, got it all yet?

Is The Fortnite Chapter 3 Map Real?

The jury is out on whether the Fortnite Chapter 3 map is the real deal or just another elaborate hoax for the clout. As we've seen before with Grand Theft Auto, it's easy to stitch together some pictures and make something look credible.

Then again, this would be an amazingly detailed hoax. The original creator claims, "And yes. The map is designed after an actual rough blueprint I saw several months ago from a connection I have but the concept is NOT the chapter 3 map at all. I took their rough design and build off of it. Likely their actual map is much different now."

That sounds like they're already trying to distance themselves from the idea this is the final map, but there's still a lot to unpack. Following in the footsteps of previous chapter maps being named after mythological characters (Athena for Chapter 1 and Apollo for Chapter 2), Chapter 3 is currently being dubbed Artemis. If all of the above isn't legit, we think Epic should hire the faker as a map designer for the inevitable Chapter 4 map.

Remembering that the Fortnite Chapter 3 map could theoretically be just weeks away, we're ready to crank some 90s on a brand new version of the battle royale bruiser.
